Hilary Knight: Hello and welcome to The Three Bells. This podcast is one of a series brought to you by AEA Consulting for the Global Cultural Districts Network, in which we explore what's happening around the world on those busy, and sometimes congested intersections of cultural and urban life.

My name is Hilary Knight. I'm a senior consultant at AEA Consulting, and my guest today is Tasha James. Tasha is a Wiradjuri woman whose native homelands cross the region of Central West New South Wales of Australia.

If you're trying to picture it, that's about six hours drive west inland of Sydney. The homelands of the Wiradjuri people is one of the biggest lands across Australia.

Tasha is an Indigenous archives specialist working with Indigenous communities and collections that include audiovisual and material culture. She's currently the Indigenous Collections and Community Access Manager at ABC, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. And before that, she was the Manager of Indigenous Connections at the National Film and Sound Archives of Australia (NFSA). And she has held a number of roles in major cultural institutions, such as the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies and the Australian Museum.

Tasha's work centres around collaborating with communities to co-design models for archiving and sharing archival materials and around digital repatriation of cultural heritage and knowledge.

Hi Tasha, welcome to The Three Bells. It's really great to have you here.

Tasha James: Hi, Hilary. Great to speak to you and I'm really looking forward to our yarn.
